先端部地区は、国立公園計画上の「利用施設計画」がなく、歩道や車道など一般の公園利用のための施設が設けられていないほか、知床森林生態系保護地域として「自然の推移に委ねる」地域とされているなど、制度上一般の利用者による積極的な利用は想定されていない地域です。そのうえ刻々と変化する海況や風況、低い海水温や高密度なヒグマの生息等極めて厳しい自然条件が存在する地域であり、一般的な利用に関する安全性や快適性は全く保証されません。

また、先端部地区に立ち入る「利用者」は、これら過酷な条件に自らの力だけで対処できる極めて高度な技術と体力及び判断力が求められ、全ての行動に自己の判断が要求され、その結果は全て自己の責任に委ねられることを十分に自覚することが求められます。

 

■自然環境への配慮

先端部地区の原始的な自然環境が損なわれることのないよう、「利用者」は自然環境の保護に対する意識を高く持ち、自然環境へのインパクトを最小限にするよう努めること。

■他の「利用者」への配慮

次に訪れる「利用者」が先端部地区ならではの静寂かつ原始的な自然体験が味わえるよう、利用の痕跡を残さず来た時と同じ状態にすること。また、他の「利用者」の静寂かつ原始的自然体験を損なうような行為は行わないこと。

■動力船による上陸禁止

動力船による上陸利用は、貴重な植物群落や野生鳥獣の生息地である知床岬一帯の自然環境を保護するため行わないこと。

■自己責任

先端部地区は、整備された道等の施設はないうえ、極めて厳しい自然条件が存在する地域であり、これら過酷な条件に自らの力だけで対処できる極めて高度な技術 と体力及び判断力が求められ、また、その結果は全て自己の責任に委ねられることを十分に自覚すること。なお、事故が発生した場合は、連絡手段や避難・通信設備は整っておらず、救助の際には莫大な費用と時間を要するだけでなく、生死にかかわる状況になることを認識すること。

■情報収集等

先端部地区の利用にあたって適用される関係法令、規則等を十分に理解・学習し、これらを遵守すること。また、事前にルサフィールドハウス、知床羅臼ビジターセンターまたは知床自然センターから、リスクの軽減に関する情報及び利用に関する情報を入手し、十分な理解・学習を行うとともに、これらに対処する技術の習得に努めること。

最近海洋プラスチック問題がクローズアップされてきていますが、知床半島も例外ではなく、その上地域柄シケで流された漁具も漂着ゴミとして一部分回収されないままとなっています。

それらを回収しようとしたら莫大な費用がかかるのは当然ですが、そもそも知床半島先端部は道路すらないので陸送はできず、また環境保全の立場から動力船による海からの上陸も認められておりませんので海上輸送もできません。

この現状の中唯一半島先端部へアプローチできるのがシーカヤックです。知床岬シーカヤックエコツアーではシーカヤックの特性を十分活用し、知床ならではのワイルドキャンプを楽しみながらプラスチック＆漁具を回収します。回収場所はカヤック上陸地点の状況に合わせてその時々に判断します。

The Shiretoko Cape Sea Kayak Eco Tour takes full advantage of the characteristics of sea kayaks to collect plastic and fishing gear while enjoying a wild camping experience unique to Shiretoko. Collection sites are determined on a case-by-case basis according to the conditions at the kayak landing site.

■ツアー参加時のご注意

・このツアーには安全確保と荷物運搬の為、地元漁師による磯船が伴走します。

・1日の寒暖差が激しい日や寒い日には最高気温が15度に満たない日もあります。衣類の着脱をこまめにして、上手に体温調整してください。

・個人装備は最小限にしてください。共同装備、食料等を各艇に分けて積み込むため、容量に限りがあるのと、荷物が多い分カヤックが重くなり疲労につながります。

・各自装備品はパッキング時にチェックさせていただきます。

・貴重品は主催者側でお預かりいたします。

・参加者全員がチームとして協力しながらのカヤックツアーです。ガイドに従ってください。また水汲みや荷物の運搬、食器洗い等お手伝い下さい。

・人工物が一切ない中でのワイルドキャンプです。当然トイレは携帯トイレ、シャワーは湧き水での水浴びとなります。

・アレルギーがある方は必ず事前にお伝えください。

・エキノコックス症予防の為、浄水器を通した水のみ飲用できます。

・ヒグマの生息地です。単独行動はせず、ヒグマ対応に慣れているガイドの指示に従って下さい。

Sea kayak to Cape Shiretoko and back. This is an 8-day/7-night (including extra days) eco-adventure travel program that aims to recover marine plastics and fishing equipment from the World Natural Heritage site and commercialize them into containers, accessories, and other products for sale.

Only sea kayaks and other human-powered vehicles are allowed to land on the tip of the Shiretoko Peninsula, allowing visitors to experience a primitive, wild camping experience. The Shiretoko Peninsula is not accessible by motorized boats. The meals are prepared with Hokkaido ingredients, especially those from Shiretoko, and are also part of the fun.

This itinerary is based on the best weather conditions, and the itinerary and course may change daily depending on the weather. In the worst case, if you are stuck in Utoro due to snowstorms, etc., you may not arrive in Utoro until the 7th day of the tour. The meals will be changed accordingly.

This tour is not focused on reaching Cape Shiretoko. The purpose of this tour is to recover marine plastic, fishing gear, and other resources while experiencing the fun of sea kayaking in Shiretoko.

*A reasonable level of physical fitness is required. Inexperienced participants are recommended to try sea kayaking in a nearby area beforehand. We also ask that you do push-ups, sit-ups, squats, and other muscle training.

■Notes on the tour

This tour will be accompanied by a rocky shore boat operated by local fishermen for your safety and to carry your baggage.

The temperature can vary greatly from day to day, and on cold days, the maximum temperature may be less than 15 degrees Celsius. Please adjust your body temperature by dressing and undressing frequently.

Please keep personal equipment to a minimum. The kayak will be heavy and this will lead to fatigue.

Please be aware that the kayakers will check their own equipment when packing.

・個人装備は最小限にしてください。共同装備、食料等は各自に分配します。

・各自装備品はパッキング時にチェックさせていただきます。

・貴重品は主催者側でお預かりいたします。

・参加者全員がチームとして協力しながらの山旅です。ガイドに従ってください。また水汲みなどお手伝い下さい。

・人工物が一切ない中でのワイルドキャンプです。トイレは携帯トイレとなります。

・アレルギーがある方は必ず事前にお伝えください。

・エキノコックス症予防の為、浄水器を通した水のみ飲用できます。

・ヒグマの生息地です。単独行動はせず、ヒグマ対応に慣れているガイドの指示に従って下さい。

・女性ガイドも随行しますので女性の方も安心してご参加ください。
